Wausa is the home of Earl Norman Post #63. It was the first American Legion Post chartered in Knox County, Nebraska. They sponsor community Memorial Day and Veterans Day services, Boys' State and Girls' State candidates and local scholarships. Membership eligibility requirements. | |

CHIC was formed in 1983. They sponsor a number of activities for local school children, including coordinating summer recreational classes and McGruff's Safe House program. | |

Wausa is part of the Diamond Dick District of the Mid-America Boy Scout Council. Wausa has an active Cub Scouts group for boys in grades 2 through 5. Membership is open to all boys in this age group. | |

Girl Scout Troops in Wausa are served by Prairie Hills Girl Scout Council headquartered in Columbus. Wausa has an active Brownie Girl Scout Troop for girls in grades 1 through 3. Girls in grades 4 through 6 have a Junior Girl Scout Troop. Membership is open to all girls in these age groups. | |
